Abstract

The relationship between religion and science has always been a subject of debate within modern scientific discourse concerning religious matters. This qualitative study, in the form of media observation, aims to identify the views of the Indonesian Muslim scholar Ustadz Adi Hidayat on the blowing of the Trumpet on the Day of Judgement, through the perspective on the relationship between religion and science developed by Ian G. Barbour. This study employs a content analysis approach to the content on the YouTube channel (Adi Hidayat Official). The findings reveal that Ustadz Adi Hidayat’s views on the event of the blowing of the Trumpet align with the paradigms of dialogue and integration. In his view, that modern astronomical findings reinforce the meaning of the Qur’anic verses concerning the Trumpet event. This study contributes to affirming that the discourse on the relationship between Islamic teachings and science can be understood through a dialogical and integrative paradigm.
